Differences

Being at peace with our differences is possible.

Lost Futures

Image
The futures of thousands of children are lost annually. But it is not children's futures alone we are guilty of losing...We also lose sight of great ideas and possibilities for better futures.

Commitment and Protest

Image
Commitment and Protest ==================================================== Thích Quảng Đức [1963] Thích Quảng Ðức was a Vietnamese Buddhist monk who burned himself to death at a busy Saigon intersection on June 11, 1963. His act of self-immolation, which was repeated by others, was witnessed by David Halberstam, a New York Times reporter, who wrote: "I was to see that sight again, but once was enough. Flames were coming from a human being; his body was slowly withering and shriveling up, his head blackening and charring. In the air was the smell of burning human flesh; human beings burn surprisingly quickly. Behind me I could hear the sobbing of the Vietnamese who were now gathering. I was too shocked to cry, too confused to take notes or ask questions, too bewildered to even think.... As he burned he never moved a muscle, never uttered a sound, his outward composure in sharp contrast to the wailing people around him."

Contrast that Teaches

Some contrasts carry a message and provide a deep lesson in the ways of the world. (Many come our way but we fail to "see" them.)

Greed

The Analog Letter (Vs. The Digital E.mail)

Image
If you really want to touch someone, send them a letter. (So appropriate for a world that has gone so digital...and losing the art of writing a warm letter.) (Picture source here )

Love is a decision of the heart. It is the only beacon for a world that needs peace...

'Everything' can be bought and sold?

Image
Don't we live in a world where 'everything'(imagine people, feelings, relationships, parenthood/parents, womb...everything)can be sold and bought?

Desire's Vision

Ever thought of Desire's vision for all of us? Enticement? Entrapment? Enslavement?

Discovering

You can make your life a journey through "routines". Or, you can make it a journey of "discovery"...seeing mystery in small things. The choice is really and largely yours. (Picture source: Click Title)

Are We Really Free?

Image
Are we not all prisoners of something or other? Are we really free and at peace with ourselves?

Facelessness

Image
Are we guilty of "snatching" (insenstive? unconscious? social blindness? ignoring?...) the faces of many among us, making them facesless? (Picture source: Click Title)

Love is Also...

Image
Love is not fundamentally a sweet feeling; not, at heart, a matter of sentiment, attachment, or being ‘drawn toward.’ Love is active, effective, a matter of making reciprocal and mutually beneficial relations with one’s friends and enemies. Choice?

Image
Funny? But consider.... How often have choices come to us in this form? And how often have we given choices to others in this form? (Source of pic: Click title)

Soft, Supple and Sustainable?

Image
“Men are born soft and supple; dead, they are stiff and hard. Plants are born tender and pliant; dead, they are brittle and dry. Thus whoever is stiff and inflexible is a disciple of death. Whoever is soft and yielding is a disciple of life. The hard and stiff will be broken. The soft and supple will prevail.” ~ Lao-tzu

Image
David and Goliath It just takes a tiny dot to stop a sentence. And there will always be 'David and Goliath' situations. Will we have the courage of David? Have we identified the 'Goliaths' we have to face? And what are we going to sling at our 'Goliaths'? Anonymous/Unknown
